The goal that we set for ourselves is to make children feel good and safe with us. So that they want to come here with a smile. Therefore, there is a lot of hugs, playing, music and movement activities, forming social skills. It’s also a time when a group of teachers and specialists pays attention to the correct physical growth, speech development, emotional growth. Individual support paths are being created.
We slowly begin the adventure of preschool. We introduce rules that function in a group, learn independence. First project works occur. We feel with all senses, smell, taste, touch, listen. All work is done through playing. We conduct sensory art classes, music lessons with elements of Gordon’s classes, ecology workshops with animals and a looot of dancing and moving.
The group of 3-year-olds begins implementing the core curriculum of the Ministry of Education, enriched with pedagogic innovation Creative Problem Solving. As part of project work, we use creative heuristics: brainstorm, priority pyramid. Classes are accompanied by drama workshops, acrobatics, karate, pottery. We base on teamwork – 2-3 persons. We take care of forming inquiry thinking in the little ones and build curiosity of the world.
We still work with the CPS method and the Destination Imagination programme. For volunteers, there is another language – Spanish. At this age children also start an intensive programme on learning how to read with the simultaneous and sequential method and children’s mathematics. We draw, paint, mould, take part in many preschool projects i.e. European Language Day, Earth Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Family Days and many many more, which are continued in subsequent years.
The curriculum of this group includes workshops from the world of physics and chemistry, in other words we simply experiment. Next to children’s mathematics, we work with the Matplanet program with logical thinking riddles. We conduct classes in literature, reading and writing. The groups of 5-year-olds also take part in subsequent year of pool classes, football and ballet. Some of the kids are preparing for starting school as 6-year-olds.
Children consolidate skills that they learned in previous years. We see clear successes in the field of mathematic competence, fine and gross motor skills, competence in Polish language and cognitive skills. Children enter the world of basic programming, entrepreneurship and implement independent ecological projects. Our goal is to achieve full school readiness.
